Cabot Corporation Achieves its Best-Ever Score from EcoVadis

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 2016-- Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) has received its highest score to date from EcoVadis. Recognition of progress from this prestigious organization showcases Cabot’s long-term commitment to sustainability.

For 2015, Cabot was awarded gold level recognition by EcoVadis, an independent assessment organization that specializes in sustainability programs performance monitoring. Cabot ranked in the top 12% of suppliers assessed by EcoVadis in all categories, and in the top 15% within the chemical industry. The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainable development standards that help to ensure reliable third-party assessment.

Cabot follows rigorous, transparent standards in the disclosure of its sustainability performance. This includes the development of sustainability reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative, an internationally accepted framework for the preparation of sustainability reports. Cabot also recently became a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and supports the initiative’s 10 principles in the areas of human rights, labor relations, the environment and anti-corruption.
