BOSTON, Feb 22, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) has begun implementation of RC 14001 for its North American carbon black manufacturing facilities, company officials said today. RC 14001 incorporates the requirements of both the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® code and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

RC14001 involves measuring and publicly reporting safety and environmental performance, implementing the codes related to facility security, and obtaining independent certification. Cabot anticipates certification for all its North American facilities by Dec. 31, 2013.
